Forced to become a vampire by the druid priests Marius is of Roman origin. He soon escapes from the druids after the old weak vampire tells him to find the mother and father in Egypt and to find he cause of the great fire. Marius does this and at the request of Akasha takes the king and queen into his own protection. Moving them from place to place when the need arises. Marius does this and spends the majority of his existence as the guardian of Those Who Must Be Kept. He has companions throughout the centuries first Pandora then Mael and Avicus, then Armand and also Lestat telling Lestat what he needs to know about his origins. His time as keeper of Akasha and Enkil comes to an end when Akasha is awoken by Lestat’s rock music, which Marius himself played to her. After Pandora and Santino free him from the ice Akasha trapped him in he journeys with them to the gathering of the immortals to the destruction of Akasha. |
