Chapter six
It was just after sunset and Luke was talking to Vincent about what he had been doing during the day. When my uncle came running through the door almost taking them off their hinges “uncle what wrong?” “We must go and now” “but why? What’s happened?” “There’s no time to explain just get what you need for Luke and that’s get out of hear” Vincent went and got likes clothes and we left our home and we never went back. As we fled the city and acquired a ship and our old crew to take us to England my uncle told us what was going on. I put Luke on the bed he was fast asleep. “So why have we had to go on the run?” I asked my uncle “because they are coming for Luke” who? And why do they want my son?” “News has travelled about the world about a boy who is a genius and can read mind who can jump a wall in one single bound” “but that could be any boy” “yes it could but there has been a description of him and a reward just as I was coming back from hunting earlier a man came up to me and said that he would give me a cut of the money if I would get the boy so of course I asked more questions and found out who wanted Luke and for what purpose” “and did you find out who it was?” “ Yes I did that’s why I said that we must go. It was my maker she is a very old immortal and very dangerous to all of our kind she can kill us with one look she is the first of all our kind and she has heard of Luke and how he was conceived of a mortal woman and an immortal and now she wants Luke but for what I don’t know yet” “but we have told Luke about being careful when he uses he powers” “but that’s the thing it was my maker that saw him do it not a mortal” “and what of your maker now?” “Vincent you have been very quite what do you think we should do he is your son as well as mine” “ I think we should keep running” “have you meet his maker?” “Yes I have met her” “and what would you say about her?” “That she would do anything to get our son and she wont stop till she has him” “well I have a suggestion” my uncle said “I will go and find her and ask her my self what she wants she will not hurt me” “and if she does then what are we to do” “you will run and when Luke is ready you will turn him if he wants it” “but he is still two young he has another year till he can be turned” “then you will have to break the rules of you want to save your son”. “What will you say to her when you meet her?” “I will try and find out what she wants with Luke.” And with that he was getting ready to go and find his maker. “If aim not back before dawn as soon as you wake turn Luke he may be our only chance if you want to survive”. And with that he was gone. And with that Vincent and me started to get Luke ready just in case my uncle didn’t return. “Luke wake up. Me and you father need to talk to you” “what is it mother?” “Something is happening and we don’t know what it is yet but we need to no something in case it happens.” “What do you want to no” “well you no what we are and that when you are old enough you would have a choice whether you wanted to join us well your choice is going to have to be made now” “why what’s going on?” “There is one of our kind after you we don’t know why but what we do know is that has something to do with you having our powers and still being a mortal my uncle has gone to find the one who wants you and find out more but until he gets back you are not safe so if he does not come back you have a choice to make will you become one of us or do you want to keep running for the rest of your life? What ever you decide me and your father will be there for you no matter what happens” “if I said that I will join you when would it be done?” “Tomorrow night” “but only if my uncle doesn’t return will it be done”. “I will join you” “now are you sure that’s what you want” “yes I am sure its what I want” “once it has been done it cant be undone” “yes its ok its what I want”.
