I have started reading the Anne Rice books. and from what i am reading she has made the vampires out too be the following. Vampires who cant walk in the day Vampires who still have a heart beat. Vampires who have fangs Vampires who takes a while for them too "change" and become infected. Vampires who are faster and stronger then normal people. ETC. How right was she , is her books and information in the books about right ? offcorse we are talking about the vampires as a type and not the characters.

Yes, she wrote a book based on theories and ideas of others, she is a genious, I do love her work though. But, it's not like Anne Rice made up Vampires..

I have herd stories that the books are based on a real type of vampire and that infact that is why the book "Interview with the vampire" was written in the interview format. That is how she recieved the information about the vampires. I know that she wasnt the first too write about vampires , however you have too admit that her idea of Vampirism isnt like the other types of Vampires. In the book the old style of killing a vampire like Raming a stake in their hearts and the fact that all her vampires do have a heart beat. This tends too go against the common type of Vampires that you see in movies.

I've read like half of three of her books (Interview with the vampire..Louis made me cry) The Vampire Armand and The Vampire Lestat ... She has taken away from the more neaderthal of the stories that say to kill Vampyres you need to ram a stake through their hearts, etc. Anyway, from what I gather from talking a few vampires and what I have read, she has gotten strikingly close to what vampires really are. For ever Immortal. Cause I've never read of her vampires dying, unless by Akasha or Lestats maker Magnus but there is more of backstory behind why he was able to die.

It made me emotional because he was ver upset for awhile. Til he realized something, in the third book. That they mentioned in the movie 'interview with the vampire' anyway, Lestat turned him because he was lonely. Problem was, Louis. Being the true softy at heart loved humanity, until he realized no matter how much he loved them, he would never be excepted by them. He came to terms with himself: "....I knew only peace when I fed..." Sadly, he later went crazy...lol...he was beautiful

I've read those books as well. It was a while ago, but I still remember them. Louise did not make me want to cry, I prefered Lestat's side of things. Arrogent, pompous, kind and cruel. In the book series, my favorite is "Tales of A Body Thief", where Lestat temperarily becomes mortal. That was an interesting twist, albeit a bit unrealistic.
Until the next, be well and safe. And always be who you truly are ... no less.

Louis does not whine! Don't you think he has enough to think about. Seriously. Sure he is emotional, but I wouldn't call him a whiner. Sure Lestat did, but he is...what's the word... stunning, but arrogant in a good way. -smile- Louis is an intellectual, lover of books and poetry. And debates. Of mortality, and quiet admiration for those who indulge him. Not to mention his kindness and tolerance. Notice, I always admire the quiet ones. But I guess the quiet ones can be most decieving. But still, I admire him. And before you all say OMG another Louis lover, I implore you to think outside the scope of the novels. -smile- I adore them all. But Louis is just so misunderstood -wink- Right? Where is my cavalry when I need them? -smiles slightly- And besides there are parallels with Louis and another immortal who I adore, so that makes the case for me not only biased but plainly and utterly totally one-sided. -grin- Forgive me while I gather my thoughts in a moment of pure elation. _________ Andrea Your humble mortal servant of the Realm.
